Week 12

Image
I feel like the model turned out pretty good in the end, the only problem I could think of is when the hair is smoothed, it becomes thinner. The design had to change because here were inconsistencies between the front and side reference. The hair and helmet took main reference from the side while the face and eyes took reference from the front. The visor over the eyes had to be removed because I couldn't translate its transparency effectively. If i could ake changes, maybe just making the hair thicker. Technical Notes: Used the bridge tool alot since extruding was not working on hair, edges that are opposite can only be bridged and if shape is in triangle it can not bridge.

Week 11

Tag "CommunicatingIn3D" (can be one or multiple posts): In team PeachEagle he switch to smooth preview is working nicely, I had to extrude the star in the characters eye to make it stand out as a detail. There was an issue with extruding the hair to make it thicker, so instead I used the bridge tool to make it more round. I still need to figure out how to connect two different popygon objects together(both sides of the face) into one. I also had to give up on adding the visor because that would require giving it a transperant texture. Discussion on Aesthetic   It looks alot less scary now and the face is nicer when round, but I am still not sure about how well the eye is seen from the side compared to the reference. Next steps: What will you do next?  I will try and make all of the different parts connected better Tag "Technical Notes": OneDrive is helpful in sharing the files between the teams because it can be accessed on any computer and updates across all file...

Week 10

In team Peach Eagle, just doing hair The eyes and hair are so far working well The front and side reference for the characters hair is confusing to make without the hair going into the face. So I decided to only take reference from the side view for the hair  I like the eyes and the modeling of the hair, I am not sure about the face, because i still need to smooth it out. Next steps: What will you do next?- Finish hair and focus on smoothing everything out Feedback: Make the eyes more like the reference, add details like eyelashes

Working In Maya in Week 9

Image
I am in the peach eagle group and I was assigned to modeling the head, I so far have the general outline of the face   Currently following the head modeling section in the Joan of Arc Tutorial Learnt how to make a polygon and use the extrude and slice tool, so far its going okay but it is hard to get that curve right for the face without it looking bumpy so i just try and move stuff around alot. I feel a bit behind so I will try to catch up next week, currently it looks fine(apart from bumps) I just hope that the hair isnt going to be hard and the eyes are going to fit okay. Luckly the face structure of the character is simple, but it did mean I had to find a different base to work from so it looked more human. Next steps are finishing the face so I can move onto the helmet and hair, since I have to balance working on it along with other things due at same time, so just got to manage time better and do more modeling when ever I can. Tech Notes: To find special duplicate, go Ed...

Week8

What makes the design unique? Shape and colour What are some examples from the commercial space (TV/Film/Games etc) that are in the same general idea as the bible you are working from? Splatoon i think How cohesive are the vehicle and character in the provided bible? Very? Why are you either making changes to the provided bible designs or leaving them without changes? (discuss this in terms of visual design here, not just "It's fine as it is). In the vehicle section, the views of the vehicle are off and do not line up or are in perspective properly. And has inconsistancies in design. Will fix that by making it consistant and giving better perspective. The characters hair is also not lined up properly between the views. What changes (if any) need to be made to the designs in the production bible to work in 3D? Hair design, how the nose is viewed in the front, Pants Discussion on Aesthetic (how the project is looking/visual direction) Your opinion on the current look/direction...

InDesign Basics

Go to print for page sizes and stuff Bleed gives the page a boarder, so anything outside of it is trimmed off. Facing pages prints out like a book or magazine.

Poster +Reflect

When I was making the vehicle, I wanted to add the aspect of perspective to make the camera angle seem diagonal. Perspective was shown by making closer things larger and further things smaller to mimic real life. This perspective can also be scene in the backgeround, as trees appear small as they are further. Colours are distictive The poster shows the vehicle having fast momentum going around corners, with smoke trails even being left behind to showcase speed. The vehicles floating mechanic allows for it to swing around tight corners without having to worry about flying off, since it is attached to the horses.' The charactor is pretty calm as they are convident that they will win. The perspective of the road is also very dinamic with a nice horizon line. The road also has a sense of motion as it gets bigger(cause it's closer) I feel like the colour design could of been done differently, but it isn't that bad and doesn't contrast to much with the overall design. The p...
